Volunteer Requirements
To volunteer you must be a resident of Wheeling and attend the Wheeling Citizens Police Academy, which is offered once a year. After successful completion of the academy you are eligible to apply to become a Citizens Patrol member. Once accepted, you will then attend an additional training class to learn how to perform your duties and assist the police department as a Citizens Patrol volunteer. Volunteers must also attend a monthly meeting and provide 4 hours of service each month.
