Police Department Overview
The
Police Department is divided into three divisions:
The Patrol Division
which includes; Patrol, K-9, Traffic, Community Service
Officers, Crime Prevention, and D.A.R.E.
The Investigations Division
includes Criminal Investigations Unit, Youth Investigations,
School Liaison Officers, and Tactical Officers, Crime Analysis,
Bicycle Unit, and Social Services.
The Support Services Division
includes Evidence, Communications, Records, Planning, Training
and Research, and IT.

The Mission of the Wheeling Police Department is to improve the
quality of life for the citizens of the Village of Wheeling by
provision of the highest quality of police services. The
department will maintain respect for human rights, will promote
mutual respect and courtesy, and work to build strong,
effective, mutually beneficial police/community partnerships.
