In order for crime to occur, three elements must be present:
- Desire
- Ability
- Opportunity

These elements can be depicted as a triangle, a "crime
triangle." By removing the opportunity for
a criminal to commit a crime we break the crime triangle and
make it much more difficult for a criminal to operate in our
community. The main objective of crime prevention is to
reduce the opportunity for crime.NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCE
CENTER
The Crime Prevention Unit is located at 99 North Wolf Road and
is open Monday thru Friday. The Crime Prevention Unit may be
reached at (847) 459-2994; please ask for Sergeant Panagakis or
Officer Laverd.
If the door is locked during normal business hours then most
likely the Crime Prevention Unit Police Officers are out in the
Community. Contact the
Police Department at (847) 459-2632 for assistance. In an emergency dial 9-1-1.
