This document is available to view in PDF format. Youth Police Academy Application

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Academy is to increase young people's understanding of police officers and their mission through education. Our intent is to acquaint young people with law enforcement's role in the criminal justice system and provide an increased understanding of the tasks police officers face in their daily work.

WHAT IS A YOUTH POLICE ACADEMY?

Modeled after our successful Citizens' Police Academy, the Youth Police Academy is an educational program designed to give the youth an inside view of how their police department works. The program will be a combination of classroom and practical exercises, with an emphasis on issues pertinent to young people and their environment.
