Deck, Accessory Building and Fence
Policy
In order to accommodate residents of newly constructed homes
in the Village and the orderly completion of lot grading and
stabilization, the following policies on construction of decks,
accessory structures and fences are established:
1) No permits for fences, storage sheds or
other accessory structures except decks will be issued until
such time as final grading, lot stabilization and landscaping is
completed by the contractor or homeowner and approved in writing
by the Village Engineer or his representative.
2) A permit for the construction of a deck,
accessory to a single family residence, may be issued provided
that the final grading of the lot is completed, inspected and
approved by the Village Engineer or his representative, and
provided that the "Standards for Issuance of Deck
Permits" are met.
In conjunction with the issuance of a deck,
if stabilization is not complete and if no surety is on file for
the stabilization of the lot, the applicant shall deposit surety
in a form acceptable to the Village Engineer in the amount of
$750.00 to insure stabilization. Upon approval of the
stabilization, surety shall be returned.
