Plumbing Permit

RESIDENTIAL SANITARY SEWER SERVICE LINE/CLEANOUT REQUIREMENTS

1)  A plumbing permit is required at a cost of $65.75.

2)  All work must be done by a licensed Sewer or Plumbing Contractor who must provide the Village with a copy of their State of Illinois Department of Public Health Registration License.

3)  Install 6" PVC tee with a sweep towards the street.

4)  Use Non-Shear couplings to make connections to dissimilar pipe materials.

5)  PVC cement and primer required for PVC/PVC connections.

6) Extend clean out to grade, cap as needed.

7) PVC Schedule 40 is acceptable for clean out stations only.

8) In replacing a service line - SDR26 is required.

9) All sewer repairs must be bedded and covered in 3/4" or #6 compacted wash gravel.

10) A $1,000.00 cash bond shall be required at permit issuance (Contractor doing the work shall provide this). The bond shall be refunded after inspection and approval by the Building Department unless restoration is required in the parkway or sidewalk area, then the bond shall be refunded after inspection and approval of the Engineering Department.

11) Contractors must make use of a 5 1/2" cutter to ensure a clear service line.

12) Upon completion of repairs, but before backfilling, an inspection by the plumbing inspector is required.

13) The use of a TV sewer camera may be used to verify that the service line is clear.
