Fire Service Line

1. Permit required from Community Development

2. To be installed by licensed plumber

3. To be installed in a plastic sleeve on a bed of 3/4" washed stone

4. Tapping in sleeve and valve to in a 5' round manhole

5. Inspection before backfilling

6. Service to be flushed full bore until clean and witnessed by Plumbing Inspector

7. Service then must be tested at 200 P.S.I. for two hours

8. Service is then ready for chlorination and testing results sent to Water Department and Building Department

9. 24-hour notice required

Domestic Service

1. Permit required from Community Development

2. To be installed by licensed plumber

3. Direct tap, no saddle unless directed by Water Department

4. 1 1/2" Buffalo Box, as per Village of Wheeling Standard typical service tap

5. Service to be tested and witnessed by Plumbing Inspector before backfilling

6. 24-hour notice required
