Position Salary Description

COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER, PART-TIME

 $15.30/hr., 18-19 hours/wk, early evenings. Village of Wheeling seeks individual to relieve sworn personnel with signing complaints and issuing citations/testify in court for violations of the Village of Wheeling Municipal Code; assist the general public with requests-for-service; complete assignments of animal complaints that include but are not limited to, stray animals, animal abuse, apprehending stray animals and transporting impounded or biting animals to the pound-keeper to ensure safety of the public and of the animal; type, file and obtain police reports as needed. Requires HS diploma or equivalent, excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience dealing with the public; training or experience relating to animal control techniques desirable. Microsoft Word/Excel experience preferred; valid State of Illinois driver’s license required. Salary: $15.30/hr., 18-19 hours/wk, early evenings. The position is open until filled.
