Temporary Seasonal Workers - Public Works
$10.00-$14.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Benefits are not
The Village of Wheeling Department of Public Works seeks motivated
individuals to work as temporary, seasonal workers to assist and perform
diverse duties, functions and responsibilities. The majority of the
work will be performed outdoors with occasional indoor work. The
position requires physical labor which may involve, but not limited to,
general landscape and outdoor grounds maintenance; assisting with
maintenance work on Village streets, sidewalks, traffic signs, etc;
facility maintenance; and other manual labor work as assigned.
Additional duties, depending on qualifications, may include snow plowing
and snow shoveling of bus stop enclosures, park areas, walkways, or
clerical work as assigned and as it relates to Public Works.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; some hours may vary.
This is strictly a seasonal position limited to less than 1,000 hours.
Rate: $10.00-$14.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. Benefits
are not included.
Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Must have high school
diploma or equivalent. Must be able to successfully pass mandatory
medical exam including drug screening. Must have valid Illinois Driver
License. A Commercial/CDL Driver License a plus. Must be able to lift
or carry a weight up to 50 lbs.
