The mission of the Village of Wheeling is to provide all
residents and businesses of the community with high quality
public service. Essential services are provided to all citizens,
regardless of their social, economic, racial, or ethnic
background. In order to achieve this goal, we, the employees and
elected officials of the Village of Wheeling, shall treat all

Wheeling's Municipal government is in the Council-Manager
form. A professional Village Manager directs day-to-day
operations, and policy-making is the task of an elected Village
President and Board of Trustees. Residents are welcome to
attend and encouraged to take an active role in community
affairs, at twice monthly board meetings, and other workshops
and special meetings.
The Village of Wheeling enjoys a good financial standing,
with good municipal bond ratings as of the date of publication
(AA rating: Fitch ICBA and Standard and Poor's). Taxes are
reasonable, kept that way through prudent fiscal management and
a broad tax base, afforded by a large and diverse base of
business and industry located in the Village.
