Wheeling's First LEED Certified Building Opens
Devon Bank at 561 N. Milwaukee Ave in Wheeling - Chicagoland’s
first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
registered bank - officially opened its doors on October 15th.
With solar panels and live plants on the roof and six wind
turbines to provide 40% of the building’s electricity, the
Devon Bank is making every effort to be as environmentally
friendly as possible. Devon Bank joins the Alexander Graham Bell
Montessori School as Wheeling’s first two ‘green’
buildings. Fresh Farms Redevelopment
