Wheeling Freedom Fest -
July 3rd through July 5th
The 2008 Freedom Fest celebration is getting a facelift! This
year is going to be special as the Village hosts a three-day
event at a new location. With the traditional festival site now
being occupied by the construction of the new Village Hall
building, the event is moving south onto the Park District
property behind St. Joseph the Worker Church. In addition,
because Independence Day falls on a Friday we have extended the
hours of entertainment to 12:00am each night.
This year’s event promises to deliver more multi-platinum
recording artists, great food from Wheeling restaurants, an
indoor Bingo breakfast, a terrific parade, a spectacular
fireworks display and of course a multitude of children’s
activities. It’s all the fun and family-friendly entertainment
you have come to expect, with a new location and an extra day.

further details as they unfold!

The 2008 Fourth of July Parade will kick
off from Northgate
Parkway and Dundee Road and travels east to Wolf Road and then
south to Holmes School. There is no parade viewing from
the west side of the railroad tracks. Please plan to celebrate
east of the Northgate intersection.
The following road closures are
planned for the July 4th Parade:
4pm -7:15pm
Northgate Parkway between Lake Cook Road and Dundee Road
5:40pm-7:15pm
Dundee Road between Milwaukee Ave and Wheeling Road
Wolf Road between Strong and E. Manchester
