Wheeling Village Board Approves Redevelopment Agreement for Uptown 500

On Monday, May 21, the Board of Trustees approved a Redevelopment Agreement (RDA) with Uptown 500, LLC to build a new mixed-use development in Wheeling’s rapidly growing town center area.
Uptown 500 is a $90 million transit-oriented, master-planned, mixed-use development to be constructed at 500 West Dundee Road, the northwest corner of Dundee Road and Northgate Parkway, across Dundee Road from the Wheeling Town Center development, currently under construction. The project will feature 321 apartment units, 10,500 square feet of retail space, and a 444-unit parking structure.

The Village has been working with the developer since last year to produce a project that will be a good fit for this important intersection and will help complete the transformation of Wheeling’s main commuter corridor.

“This is the third large development in our newly-established town center area, and we’re very excited to see continued progress here,” Village President Patrick Horcher said. “The Uptown 500 RDA represents many months of hard work, and the Board and I are pleased to see this project take the next step towards fruition.”
