The Comprehensive Plan for the Village of Wheeling was approved on July 28, 2003. The plan was updated with the adoption of the Station Area Plan (2004), Town Center Committee Concept Plan (2010), and Active Transportation Plan (2013).

There are currently two studies underway that will result in updates to the Comprehensive Plan:  the Active Transportation Plan and the Southeast TIF District Redevelopment Plan.
